Camp Food

Food is at the heart of a great camp experience, and at Camp GROW, we ensure campers enjoy plenty of delicious meals! Just ask around, and you’ll hear how amazing the food is.

Our team carefully plans menus, tests recipes, and selects nutritious options to encourage healthy choices. Mealtimes in the dining hall are a lively affair, filled with singing, clapping, and hearty summer camp meals served family-style.

Delicious Meals

•We serve family style, allowing campers to feel more in control of their own food choices.

•Our food service is run by us. We do not farm out to an outside group. We hire our own chef and kitchen staff.

•We get a lot of our produce from a local market just down the road.

•Our menus appeal to many needs including those with special dietary restrictions.

•If your camper has a birthday during camp, we will celebrate it!

Dietary Concerns

Our kitchen staff is knowledgeable of, and willing to work with, any dietary challenges your child may have. The kitchen takes great pride providing what campers need to eat, whether it be vegan, gluten-free, or accommodating food allergies.

Parents will be able to (and are encouraged to!) communicate any special dietary needs on their camper’s Health History form, and Profile form.

What We Serve

Typically, at breakfast, there are several choices of cereal and fruit, along with other hot items that vary from day to day.

Lunch and dinner typically have a salad bar with different choices in addition to hot items. We also ask the campers to take a vegetable (at least a little) of some sort at lunch and dinner.

Each meals will come with 1 protein, 2 vegetables, a starch/carb, salad, and dessert (dinner).

As a community, we want to challenge campers to think about and take responsibility for their actions which includes food waste.  With campers controlling how much food they take, we discuss with them the importance of taking only what you think you can eat.

Staying Hydrated

We encourage campers to drink plenty of water throughout the day. In order to be more environmentally friendly, focus on individual health limiting the spread of germs, and to cut back on the amount of paper cups we throw away, we recommend each camper have her own water bottle.
